THE WAY OF AWARENESS

A DAY OF MINDFULNESS IN THE PLUM VILLAGE TRADITION

with Dharma Teacher Theodate Lawlor and Kripalu Yoga Teacher Sandy Cyrus

SATURDAY, JUNE 21, 2025 9:30AM - 3:30PM

The Buddhist teachings offer us guidance in skillfulness through the embodied form of a Bodhisattva - an enlightened being dedicated to remaining in the historical realm to relieve the suffering of all beings. The most well-known of these is the energy of Great Compassion, embodied by the figure of Kuan Yin (pictured at left) from Chinese mythology, also known as Avalokiteshvara in the Buddhist tradition.

Come spend a day of refuge at Full Circle Yoga practicing sitting and walking meditation, mindful movement and fellowship in noble silence. Dharma Teacher Theodate Lawlor will introduce you to many other Bodhisattvas who model the energies of Great Understanding, Great Aspiration, Great Action and Constant Respect. We will also offer loving respect to Maha Gaia (Mother Earth).

Practicalities:

Bring your own lunch and a water bottle with a closed lid.

Blankets, bolsters, mats, blocks and chairs are available at the studio. You may bring your own mat or cushion, if you prefer.

Bring appropriate shoes and outer wear for outdoor walking meditation.

Dana (generosity): According to tradition, the teachings are offered freely (as they are priceless). You may bring a monetary contribution for our Dharma Teacher if you would like to practice generosity.

Space is limited to 10 practitioners. Please stay home if you are not feeling well. If you have been exposed to Covid-19, please attend only if you test negative twice within 48 hours before arriving.
